- Demonstrating teamwork skills
- Developing the love for family, community, country and the world

- Students have positive attitude in English language learning to participate
in all classroom activities with English 7
- Build their love for family, homes and classmates ,learning English
B. TEACHING AIDS
- Teacher’s aids: student book , class CDs, flashcards, Quizzi software,
projector/interactive whiteboard/TV.
- Students’ aids: Student books, notebooks, workbooks.
C. PROCEDURE
I. Warmer: - Greeting

1.Tenses
*The present simple tense
- Ask Ss to give form and usage
Note: always, often, sometimes......
- Ask the m to give examples

write the answers on the board)

Unit 1: MY HOBBIES
Lesson 1: Getting started
I. AIMS OF THE LESSON.
1. Knowledge.
- By the end of the lesson, students will be able tomaster the structure of English
7 and know some basic vocabulary about the topic “my hobbies” and understand
the conversation
2. Ability:
- Students can improve their 2 skills: Listening and reading
- Students can develop the ability to communicate and cooperate with their
partners, to self-study, to solve problems in conversation situations.
- Students can develop their conversation skills through some useful language
used in the lesson.
3. Quality:
- Students have positive attitude in English language learning so that they actively
participate in all classroom activities, especially with the topic “Hobbies”
conducted by the teacher.
- Students can show their care and responsibility to the environment.
II. TEACHING EQUIPMENT AND LEARNING MATERIALS.
- Lesson plan, PPT slides, Student’s book, workbook, E - book, personal
computer (if any), projector/TV, speakers.

closer look 1, closer look 2, communication, skills 1, skills 2 and looking back &
project )

B. Pre- reading:
I. Set the scene: - T gives out the picture and asks Ss:
+ Can you guess who they are ?
+ Where are they ?
+ What can you see on the shelf ? What may the hobby be ?

- Ss answer the question 1 , then teacher introduces Elena , Nick’s sister .
Quickly writes Ss’s answers to question 2 and 3 on the board .
II. Pre-teach vocabulary

- T Play the recording . Ss listen and read . Ask Ss if they their guess’s on the

C. while- reading:
I. True / false ? - Ss work individually .T asks them to read the sentences and
decide if they are true or false . T elicits the answers from Ss .T has them correct
the false sentences and write the correct answers on the board

II. Questions:
- First T asks Ss to answer the questions orally without reading the
conversation . T calls two Ss to the board and write their answers . Ask Ss to read

III. Listen and repeat - Ss listen to the recording and repeat the words or
phrases . T has some Ss practice the words or phrases

- Ss work individually to match the words or phrases from 2 with the
pictures . Have them compare their answers with the partners . Ask for Ss’s

A. AIMS OF THE LESSON
I. Knowledge
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to :
- Practice vocabulary related to hobbies.
- Know how to pronounce the sounds / ə/ and /ɜ:/
- Find out the words with the sounds /ə/ and /ɜ:/
II. Ability :
- During lesson students can develop communication skills and creativity.
- Student will demonstrate teamwork skills
III. Quality :
- Students have positive attitude in English language learning to participate in all
classroom activities with the topic “ Hobbies ”
- Students wil build their hobbies after lesson.
- Students know how to learn English in right way.
B. TEACHING AIDS
- Teacher’s aids: student book and teacher’s book, class CDs, flashcards,
projector or TV
- Students’ aids: Student books, notebooks, workbooks.
C. PROCEDURE
I. Warm-up:
Brainstorming:
- Teacher divides class into 2 groups.
+ Asks them to come to the board write the words about hobbies they know.
+ Which group write more words, that group is winner.
Possible answer: mountain- climbing, collecting bottles, playing guitar,
II. Presentation:
Vocabulary.
Activity 1: Match the correct verbs
- Pairs work.
- Ss read the action verbs in column A and match them with the suitable words/
phrases in column B.
- The pairs compare with each other.
- Ss give the answer.
- Feedback.

Activity 2: Fill in each blank in the sentences
- Have Ss read the task carefully to make sure all of them understand.
- Divide class into 5 groups.
+ Ask groups do the task.
- A group complete a paragraph. Other groups feedback.

Activity 3: Underlind keywords in the paragraphs.
- Ask Ss to read “Look out!” carefully then giving a question “Do you know
what a key word is?” to make sure they understand.
- Ask groups to find and underlind the keywords in each paragraphs (Ex2)
- Ask one group read loud the keywords in a paragraph. Other groups feedback.

Option 1. (For the good class)
- T ask Ss to work in groups of 4
- T: guide Ss to play the game.
+ Each S thinks of a hobby and say the keywords out loud.
+ The rest of the group tries to guess what the hobby is. One point is given for
each correct guess
+ The S with the most points is the winner.
Option 2. (For the week class)
- T thinks of a hobby and says the keywords out loud.
+ Ss try to guess what the hobby is. One candy is given for each correct guess.
E.g:
A: water, grow, flowers, vegetables
B: Is it gardening?
A: Yes, it is.
VI. Homework.
- Learn by heart new words about hobbies.
- Prepare new lesson.

UNIT 1: MY HOBBIES
LESSON 3: A CLOSER LOOK 2 (Page 9)
A. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
1. Knowledge:
- Review the present simple and the future simple
- Use verbs of liking
2. Capacity:
- Ability to use language:
+ Use the present simple tense and the future simple to talk about the hobbies.
- Self learning capacity:
+ Do exercises.
3. Quality: Communication, self-learning capability, creative capacity, ability to
use of language.
4. Skills: Reading Speaking, listening, reading.
5. Grammar points: the present simple and the future simple
, verbs of liking
B. TEACHING AIDS: Ss’ books, text books, projector, cards.
C. PROCEDURE.
I. Warm up: Teacher gives model dialogue
Elena: Do you have a hobby?
Mi: I like collecting glass bottle. How about Nick?
Nick: I enjoy climbing mountain. In the future I will climb mountains in other
countries.
- Ss practice reading .
- T asks Ss what tenses are used in the dialogue
II. Presentation:
1. Acitvity 1:
- Groups work.
+ Asks Ss to discuss about the use and the form in positive, negative of the
present simple and future simple tense. Ask them read dialogue again before
discussing.
2. Acitvity 2:
- Teacher writes : I like collecting glass bottle.
I enjoy climbing mountain.
- Groups work.
+ Asks Ss to give out some examples about Verbs of liking or not liking and
how to use.
- T corrects: VERBS OF LIKING OR NOT LIKING + V-ING
III. Practice:
1. Activity 3:
a. Choose the best answer using present simple
- Teacher lets students to work in pairs to give the answers.

- Teacher observes / helps students when necessary and corrects students’
mistakes.

5. Most of them enyoy/ enjoys playing badminton.

- Teacher goes round and corrects their mistakes/ gives help where are necessary.

- Groups work:
+ Teacher divides students into groups of 4 or 5. Ss take turn asking and

Sum up:
- Use suggested questions to sum up what students have learnt in the lesson.
