Listening: Pre-listening: - Hang the pictures on the board and present the situation: Tim Jones’s Mexican pen pal, Carlo, is visiting the USA . Now they are visiting some places near Tim’s house, they are both hungry now. They are going to go to a restaurant. Now listen to their conversation and check the numbers of the correct pictures - Ask Ss to discuss about the action in each picture - Give Ss about the action in pictures a1 and a2 While-listening: - Play the tape ( 3 times) - Ask Ss to give out their answers - Remark and give out the correct answers * Key : a. 1 ; b. 2 ; c. 2 IV. CONSOLIDATION Post-listening: - Ask ss to answer the questions 1.Who was walking on the grass? 2.Why doesn’t Carlo eat Mexican food? Key : 1. Carlo was walking on the grass 2. Because he can eat it at home V.
