Adj + to – infinitive
Example: It’s difficult to get a good job
It’s interesting to learn English
- Let students make examples
Exercise 3.
- Ask students to work in pair and do exercise 3: Use the adjectives and verbs in the box to complete the sentences.
- Call on some pairs to read their dialogues
- Correct their mistakes and gives key

Adj + a noun clause
Example:- I am happy that you gave me a postcard on the occasion of tet holiday.
- I am afraid I can’t run fast.
Exercise 4.
- Ask students to work in group and do exercise 4: Complete the letter. Use the correct form of the verb “be” and the adjectives in the box.
- Call some students to read their answer in front of class

2. Passive form
a. Passive voice of simple present
am / is / are + PP
Eg : They break the glass into small pieces.
The glass is broken into small pieces.
- Active: S+ V/Vs/ Ves+ O
Passive: S+ am/ is/ are+ PII
b. Passive voice of future simple tense
Eg: They will build a new school.
A new school will be built.
Active: S+ will+ V+ O
Passive: S+ will+ be+ PII
*Note: Cách chuyển từ câu chủ động sang câu bị động
- Lấy bổ túc từ câu chủ động xuống làm chủ ngữ câu bị động
- Xem động từ chính trong câu chủ động được chia ở thì nào thì chia động từ Tobe ở câu bị động ở thì đó,sau đó viết động chính ở dạng phân từ
- Lấy chủ từ ở câu chủ động xuống làm bổ túc trong câu bị động
Exercise 1
- Ask students to read a guide on how to recycle glass. Look at the instructions, rewrite them in the passive form and put the pictures in the correct order.
- Ask students to change the active sentences into the passive one
- Call on some students to write their answers on the board
- Correct mistakes and give key answers
b. The glass is washed with a detergent liquid
c. The glass pieces are dried completely
d. They are mixed with certain specific chemicals
e. The mixture is melted until it becomes a liquid
f. A long pipe is used, it is dipped into a liquid. Then the liquid is blown into intended shapes
- Ask students to put the pictures in the correct order
- Give feedback. 1 – 4 – 3 – 5 – 2 – 6
Exercise 2
- Let students complete the dialogue between Mr.Kim, a famous inventor and Hai, his assistant. They are talking about the coming invention of a time machine. Use the correct form of the verbs in the brackets.
Ask students to practice in pairs
Call on some pairs to read their dialogue
Correct their mistakes and give answers
