Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1.Knowledge: write short , simple speech with clear organization and present it in front of the class . - Grammar: simple present tense . - Vocabulary: sum up, get one’s attention, solid, Draft, detail. 2. Competence: Communication, language using ability, self-learning capacity, creative capacity 3. Quality: hardworking, responsible and honest. 4. Skills: listening and writing B. Preparation - Teacher: Textbook, lesson plan, flashcards, laptop, loudspeaker, projector. - Students: Textbook, notebook, pen C. III. While- writing: 1. Writing in groups: - Teacher tells students to choose one of the topics in the book: reducing garbage, reusing paper and saving energy in the kitchen and then prepare a speech for the class. - Have a volunteer from each grouppresent his/her group’s speech before class. + Possible speech: -Reducing garbage : Good morning ladies and gentlemen.I am a conservationist and today I am going to tell you how to reduce the amount of garbage . You know,nowadays,every household produces a lot of garbage.This not only pollutes the environment but effects people’health as well.So it is necessary for you to reduce the amount of garbage you produce.You can reduce this amount by : -Collecting plastic bags,empty cans and bottles then send them to factories for recycling . -Using cloth bags instead of plastic bags . -Not keep solid waste with food waste . -Using food waste to feed pigs,chickens and other animals . If you follow these simple rules , not only will reduce the amount of garbage you produce but your life will be safer. IV. Post-writing: *Discussion :Topic: “Why should we save energy ?” - Ask students to work in group to list the reasons for saving energy . -Call on some representative of somegroups to present in front of class . -save money . -conserve the earth’resources . -protect environment . -prevent from natural disasters . V. Homework: -Learn the new words by heart. Finish the letter into your exercisebooks. Unit 8: CELEBRATIONS Period 48. Getting stated, listen and read. A.Objectives: By the end of the lesson , students will be able to know more about the popular celebrations in the world. 1.Language contents: - Grammar: Adverbial clauses of concessions. - Vocabulary: sticky rice cake , passover , Israel , occur , slavery , joyful . 2. Competences: Co-operation, self-study, communication, creative capacity 3. Qualities: studious, responsible and honest. 4. Skills: Listening, speaking, writing and reading B. Procedures: I.Warm up: *Networks : Celebrations Lunar New Year *Possible answers :Christmas,Valentine,Easter, Mother's day,Thanksgiving day, Halloween, Lunar New Year, Mid- fall Festival,Teacher's day, May Day , Wedding .. Practice: 1. Listen and read: - Get students to listen to the tape. - Get students to look at their books and listen again. 2.Practice the dialouge: - Students work in pairs to practice the dialogue with their partners. - Call on some good pairs to practice before class. 3.Guiding questions: - Teacher asks students some questions. a.How many celebrations are mentioned in the text ? b.What are they ? - Students answer. 4.Complete the table: - Teacher shares students handouts and guide them to do the task . - Students work in groups - read and completethe table with information in the text.
