Knowledge: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to: - Read for specific information about the role of science and technology in the future - Talk about the role of science and technology a. Vocabulary: Vocabulary related to the science and technology b. Grammar: Review. 2. Competence : Teamwork and independent working, pair work, linguistic competence, cooperative learning and communicative competence 3. Qualities: Ss will be know hơ to learn english in right way 4. Skills: reading. speaking II. TEACHING AIDS 1. Teacher: Textbooks, computer accessed to the Internet, projector 2. Students: Textbooks,book III. PROCEDURE 1. Warm up T asks Ss to write these heading on the board Health,Travel Hơmes, -Brainstorm with the class some predictions for future development T asks them: - What else can you infer from the pictures? Inthe fields.Encorate Ss to use their imegination .now open the book and do the reading tasks 2. Pre-reading 1a. Ask the Ss to read the passage and math with the heading b. Have Ss do the tasks individualy. 2. Underline the following word and phrase in the passage in 1 . Match each of them with its explanation Key: 1. B 2. A 3. C 3. Match the headings with the paragraphs (1-3). There is one extra. Key: 1. D 2. A 3. E 4B 5F 6C 2. Answer the question 3. Vocabulary: Vocabulary related to the lesson. b. Grammar: Review. 2. Competence : Teamwork and independent working, pair work, linguistic competence, cooperative learning and communicative competence 3. Qualities:Positive about science andtechnology. Ss know how to learn English in right way. 4. Skills: listeing and writing II. TEACHING AIDS 1. Teacher: Textbooks, computer accessed to the Internet, projector 2. Students: Textbooks. III. PROC.EDURE 1. Checking:During the lesson 2. New lesson: 1 Warm-up - Chatting :? Your idea about home. Education and travel inthe future. -Introduce the new lesson . 2 Pre-lisening _ set the scene nic,Dương and Chau are talking about science and technology. E1/ page 55. Listen to coversation and choose the best summary _Have Ss to read three optionses .then play recording and elicit the answer the Ss. E2/ page 55.Listen to theconversation and cirle the word and phrase as you hear. -Run through the word /phrase. Play the recording again E3/ page 55 listen again and answer the questions. -Run through the questions. -play the recording again. Correct thier answer as class . 3.While-listening T sets a time limit for Ss to brainstorm ideas and write their notes. Move around and help Ss if necessary. Ask Ss to refer back to the speaking in 5, SKILLS 1and listening in 2 and 3, SKILLS 2 for useful language and ideas. - Ss swap their writing with a partner. They comment on each other’s work. Ss revise and edit their writing in class if time allows, or else as homework 4 Post-listening T asks Ss to talk about the future T observes and comments. 3. Writing 6’: -Introduce the note about how to write to expresss agreement or disagreement. ? How many pats are there? What are they? What do we write in this part? E4/ page 55. Look at the same paragraph and fill in the outline. Explain that the first sentence in the sample is the topic sentence which tell the reader. - Ask Ss to work in pair to fill in the outline. Check as a class . E5 make note. Write pharagraph on the topic. Have Ss theargument put forward then work in pair. Ask Ss to write pharagraph. Teacher may ask Ss to present their writing and ask other to comment. 5. Further practise 3’ 6.homework -Do homework - Complete their writing. - Prepare next lesson: Looking back - Project. Review vocabularies about life on other planets
