Period 98th Planning date: 09/05/21 UNIT 12: ROBOTS Lesson 6: Skills 2 A. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - have a brief overview of the roles of robot in the future - use lexical items related to name every day activities. 2. Competence: - Communication, ability to use language (write opinions bout the roles of robots in the future) - Self-learning capacity( find information about the roles of robot in the future - Creative capacity ( write a paragraph about opinion). 3. Quality: hardworking, responsible and honest. 4. Skills: listening and writing 5. Grammar points: could, will, able to. B. TEACHING AIDS: Ss’ books, textbook, projector, cassette, loudspeaker C. PROCEDURES * Warm up: Chatting ? How many kinds of robot do you know? ? What can robots instead of people? I. Pre-listening: Matching- Exercise 2 ?Phong, Vy, Mi and Duy are working in a group. They are discussing what robots will be able to do in the future. Listen to their disscusion and find out which person says that. Students work in pairs to guess the answer. -We will live more comfortable in the near future 1. Vy -Robots will be able to do dangerous work for us 2. - If robots do alls of our work, we will have nothing to do 3. - Robots will not be able to do all of our work. 4. - Some people will use robots to do bad things. 5. II. While –listening: Activity 1:Check matching: ? Listen to the recordings twice , then check the answers. Answer key: 2.Duy 3.Mi 4.Phong 5.Mi Activity 2: True/False statements: ? Listen again and tick (√) which statements are true or false. 1. Vy disagrees with the idea that in the near future robots will be able to do all of our work. 2. Duy agrees with the idea that we will live more comfortably in the near future. 3. Mi disagrees with Duy’s and Vy’s opinions. 4. Mi doesn’t think we should be careful with robots. You can use some of these ideas or of your own. Beginning with: I agree with the idea that in the future robots will be very useful to us. Firstly, ..For these reasons, I think that robots will be useful in our future. Students works in groups in groups of 4. Activity 2: Sharing and giving comments. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Have a brief overview of several greener world - Use the lexical items related to the topic “Greener world “ - Use conditional type 1 - Speak about the greener world 2. Competence: Communication, self-learning, problem solving, cooperation capability. creative capacity 3. Quality: Patriotism, studious, responsible and honest - Specialized competency: - Use English well 4. Skills: speaking, writing 5.Grammar points: conditional type 1 B. TEACHING AIDS: Posters ,textbook, pictures, projector, loudspeaker. C. PROCEDURES Warm up: chatting Can we reduce water use? How? What kinds of things we can recycle? - Ask 2 - 3 pairs of Ss to practice - Give remarks and marks. I .Activity 1:Vocabulary: 1.Add more words to the word below( Ex 1- p.56) - Play games: brainstorming - T divides the class into 4 teams: A, B,C, D. Four teams write their brainstorming on their posters. The teams with more correct answers and also the faster will be the winner. Suggested: Reduce: water, gas, rubbish, paper, electricity Reuse: envelope, light bulb, can, plastic bag, bottle. Recycle: can, book, plastic box, plastic bag, newspaper. 2. Complete and match the words or phrases. ( Ex 2- p.56) Ss complete then match to each word or phrase from a; with a effect to make a sentence. Ss do this work individually then compare their answers with a partner. - Check Ss' answers. Ask them to write complete sentences in their notebooks. Combine each pair of sentences below to make aconditional sentences ( Ex 5-P.56 ) - Play games : Lucky lots -Ask Ss to combine each pair of sentences below to make aconditional sentences by playing games : Lucky lots - T divides the class into 2 teams and play games. - The team with more scores will be the winner. Key: 1. If students recycle and use recycled materials, they will save energy. 2. If we use the car all the time, we will make the air dirty. 3. You will save electricity if you turn of your computer when you don’t use it. 4. People will stop using so much energy if they want to save the environment. 5. If you see a used can on the road, what will you do? III.Activity 3. Communication: 1.Interview and note down their answer about making greener world (Ex 6- P.56) - Have Ss work in groups of four. - One student interviews the other 3 group members and note down their answer by using the table in the Ss book Ex 6- p 56. - Move around the class and help Ss if necessary. Some Ss to report the results to the class. Share their answer with the class IV. Activity 4: project Ss go to the board and show their project Give remarks and marks V. Homework: - Summarize the main point of the lesson. - Prepare Unit 12: Getting started
