Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Read for specific information about houses in the future and future appliances - Talk about houses in the future (types, locations, surroundings, rooms, ) 2. Competence: Communication, co-operation, self-learning capacity, creative capacity 3. Quality: studious, responsible and honest. 4. Skills: Reading and speaking. 5. Grammar points: use 'will+V' B. Teaching aids: Textbook, pictures, projector, laptop. C. Procedures Warm up: Listen and draw - T describes a house and asks Ss to listen and draw - T collects some pictures to check - T gives remarks . I. Pre- reading Pre-questions (group work) - Ask Ss to look at the pictures and answer the questions in part 1(page 44) - Note the answers on the board II. While- reading: 1. Activity 1: Read and check - T asks Ss to read quickly in one minute and check their prediction *Key:1. It's a villa 2. on the Ocean 3. a helicopter, trees, a garden, a swimming pool 4. Robots in the kitchen, a TV, a computer, a hifi stereo, ... in the living room 2. Activity 1: Draw your future house - Ask each St to draw his/ her future house but don't show their partner. - Let them work in pair: one describe the house and the other listen and draw. - After finishing compare the two houses whether they are alike or not. 2. Activity 2: Draw the appliances in your future bedroom - Ss draw the appliances in their future bedroom - Ss work in group of 6 to talk about that. Eg: I will have a smart phone to talk to my friends on other planets I will have a space craft to fly to other planets to visit my friends... IV. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Listen to get information about dream houses. - Write about a dream house (type/ location, surroundings, rooms, ) - Using the lexical items related to types of the houses and appliances. 2. Competence: Communication, co-operation, self-learning capacity, creative capacity 3. Quality: studious, responsible and honest. 4. Skills: Listening and writing. 5. Grammar points: use 'will+V' and 'might+V'. B. TEACHING AIDS: Textbook, posters, pictures, projector, loudspeaker. C. PROCEDURES Warm up: Revision - T asks Ss to remember the future house they have learnt about in lesson 5 Key Type of house: Villa Location: On the ocean Surroundings: Trees, blue sea, a garden, a swimming pool Appliances in the room: Robots, super smart TV - Give remarks and marks. I. Pre- listening Describing the pictures. (pair work) - T has Ss look at these picture carefully and try to give the details of each house: Type of house, location, surroundings. Key: Picture 1: a house in the countryside, surrounded by many trees and mountains. Picture 2: an apartment in the city, surrounded by many other tall buildings... Picture 3: a villa by the sea, with a swimming pool and a flower garden. II. While- listening 1. Activity 1: Listen and write the name of house-owner under each picture. - T asks Ss to focus on the task they have to do: listen to Nick and Linda talking about their dream houses. Which house would they prefer? - T plays the recording. - T ask Ss to listen and write the names of Linda and Nick under the correct pictures. Activity 1: Ask and answer about your dream house. - Ask Ss to work in pairs, discuss about their dream houses, using the suggested ideas. E.g: S1: What type of dream house is it? S2: It's a villa/ an apartment/ a house... S1: Where is it located? S2: It's by the sea/ in the city center... 2. Activity 2: Write about your dream house: (Group work). - Ss work in groups of 5. (give each group a poster) - T allows Ss time to write about their dream house, using the suggested ideas/ information in 3) and 4). (write on the poster)- T reminds Ss to use 'will+V' and 'might+V'. - Ask some Ss to talk about their dream houses to the class. - The class can give comments and correct if necessary. IV.
