I. OBJECTIVES:

1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:

- Know more names of natural disasters and get information about the weather

forecast.

- Practice reading to know about natural disasters and dangers.

- Write a story by using some pictures.

* Grammar: - Relative clause

- Review the past simple tense

* Vocabulary: weather forecast, temperature, thunderstorm, experience, highland,

coast, bring (along), volume, trust, just in case, and laugh (at)

- collapse, tidal waves, abrupt, shift, erupt/ eruption, warn, tornado, hurricane,

typhoon, cyclone, asleep.

- perfect, shine, behave, circle, hear, gather, shelter, scared, glad, catch.

2. Skills: Listening, speaking, reading and writing.

3. Attitudes: - Positive about their lesson.

- Students know how to learn English in the right way.

- Ss are interested in doing exercises.

4. Competence orientation:

a. General capacity:

- Self - control and self-study capacities.

- Communication and cooperation capacities.

- Problem solving and creativity capacities.

b. Specilized capacity:

- English language ability

Getting started * Chatting: + What’s the weather like today? + How often do you watch the weather forecast every day? * Match the pictures to the correct words. Then compare your answers with a partner’s. - T asks Ss to work in groups - T calls on some group leader to go to the BB and write the answers - Feedback: 1. Snowstorm 2. Earthquake 3. Volcano 4. Typhoon Activity 2: Acquire new skills and knowledge. II. Practice the dialogue in a group of three. - T asks Ss to do the task. b. The sun was shining, the sky was blue, and the weather was perfect. Lan was outside and she was playing with her dog, Skippy. All of a sudden, the dog began behaving strangely. She kept running around in circles. Lan ran home with the dog to tell her mother what Skippy was doing. Lan's mother, Mrs. Quyen, told Lan that she heard on TV that there was a typhoon coming. Mrs. Quyen gathered her family and told them to find shelter in the home. Suddenly, the sky became very dark. The storm came with strong wind and heavy rain. Mrs. Quyen and her family were scared. But soon the storm finished and everyone was glad. What a clever dog Skippy is! She saved Lan from being caught in the typhoon. Activity 5: Expanding, supplementing, developing creative ideas. - T summarizes all the main points. V.
