2. The present progressive tense
- Retell the form/ usage of the present simple tense with future meaning.
Form: S + tobe + V-ing
Eg: We are collecting cans on Sunday

+ Listen and read a passage about a pen pal visit for general or detailed
information
+ Read a passage about a pen pal visit for general or detailed information
+ Make questions and answers about Lan and Maryam
* Vocabulary: corrrespond, impress, friend/friendly/friendliness, mosque,
pray, atmosphere, depend on, keep in touch.
* Grammar: The past simple with “Wish”.

- Ask ss to play the game “ Networks” : write the famous places in LAI CHAU

B. Listen and Read
1. Pre-reading:
- Lan's Malaysian pen pal came to visit her in HaNoi. Can you guess where they
went and what they did during her stay?
- Present the new words
- Ask some ss to read and correct the mistake
- Present the new structures
- Make 2 examples on the board
Eg: 1. I wish I had a new bike
2. She wishes she lived in Ha Noi now
S + wish/ wishes + S + VP1 + ...
2. While-reading:
- Play the tape ( twice)
- Ask students to read the text silently to check their predictions and add some more
information.
- Ask students to read the text again to choose the correct option to complete the
sentences on page 7 (work in groups)
- Ask ss to give out their answers on the board
