I. OBJECTIVES

1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to review all the grammar points they have leart in unit 11, and will be able to do the exercises related.

*Grammar: ed and –ing participle

- Request with:

+ Do/ Would you mind + V-ing?

+ Would you mind if I + V-ed.?

+ Do you mind if I + V(s, es) ?

 2. Skills: doing grammar exercises skill

 3. Attitudes:

 - Positive about their lesson.

 - Students know how to learn English.

 - Ss are interested in doing exercises.

 4. Competence

 a. General capacity: self – study, communicative and collaborative, and problem solving ability.

 b. Specilized capacity: language capability

Warm up - Chatting with ss - Introduce the new lesson Activity 2. Practice 1.“- ed and –ing” Participles - Asking sts remind the form and the use of polite request. - Ask students to complete the following table. Verb V-ed/VII V-ing watch Play watched listened walked watching Playing making Let students read all verbs * Present “- ed and –ing” Participles + ing – participles: Active participle + ed – participle: passive participle + one of the ways to use ing–participle and–ed–participle is the short form Eg: The boy is Nam. He is reading a newspaper. → The boy reading newspaper is Nam. This bicycle is very good. It is made in Japan. → The bicycle made in Japan is very good. Exercise 1. - Ask students to look at the picture in their book and say who each person is as the example - Give feedback. Correct mistakes and give key answers The man walking up the stairs is Mr Quang The woman carrying a bag is Miss Lien The boy standing next to Miss Lien is Nam The boy sitting under the tree is Ba The girl standing by the table is Lan The girl playing chess are Nga on the right and Hoa on the left Exercise 2. Use the past participles of the verbs in the box to describe the goods for sale in the picture - Call on some students to write their answers on the board - Correct mistakes and give answer keys The old lamp made in China is five dollars The doll dressed in red is two dollars The toy animals kept in a card board are 10 dollars The flowers wrapped in yellow paper are one dollars The truck made from recycled aluminum cans is two dollars The green painted box is one dollars 2. Asking sts remind the form and the use of polite request. Requests with: - Would/ do you mind + V-ing? - Would you mind if + S + Vqk? - Do you mind if + S + Vpresent → reply: + No, I don’t mind + I’m sorry, I can’t + Not at all + I’d prefer you didn’t + Please do Eg: + Do you mind closing the door? + Would you mind turning on the T.V? + Would you mind if I closed the door? + Do you mind if I close the door? Exercise 3 Let students do exercise 3: Work with a pastner (students in pairs) They do it in many times T calls on some pairs to read their answers. Correct and give answer keys a.
