Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to: - Understand the dialogues about asking and showing the direction. - Use modal sentences about asking and replying the direction in correct way. * Vocabulary: souvenir shop, go straight ahead * Grammar: - Could you tell/show me the way to..?- take the first/ second street on; - Review preposition of position: on the left/ right, opposite. 2. Skills: Reading and speaking skills 3. Attitudes: - Positive about their lesson. - Students know how to learn English. - Ss are interested in doing exercises. 4. Competence a. General capacity: self – study, communicative and collaborative, and problem solving ability. b. Specilized capacity: language capability II. PREPARATION 1. Teacher’s: lesson plan, text book 2. Students’: text book, note book III. METHODS, TECHNIQUES 1. Methods: Communicative approach, group Ss and T’s activities, teaching methods by practising, discussion group,. 2. Techniques: Eleciting, group work, pair work, individual work IV. PROCEDURE 1. Organization - Greetings. - Who’s absent today? 2. Check the old lesson No checking 3. New lesson Activity 1. Warm up - Chatting with ss Look at the pictures on page 79. Can you guess the topic of unit 8 - Introduce the new lesson Activity 2. New form of knowledge skills A2. Listen and repeat. Then practice the dialogue with a partner. - Ask ss to look at the picture Who are they ? Where are they ? What does the tourist want ? - Introduce the situation: A tourist doesn’t know the way to the shop souvenir and the supermarket. She is asking some people. They are Nga and Lan. - Ask ss to listen to the tape once. - T explains new words Souvenir shop (n): cửa hàng lưu niệm Go straight a head (v): đi thẳng * Grammar: + Mẫu câu hỏi đường: - Could you tell/show me the way to..? Eg. Could you tell/ show me the way to the supermarket, please? + Cách chỉ đường: Using some phrases to directions. - Go straight a head, take the first/ second street, on the left/ right, opposite. + Prepositions of position and directions: Between, in front of, next to, opposite, behind..... Eg. Go straight a head/ Take the second street on the left. The supermarket is in front of you. Activity 3. Practice - Ss listen to dialogue and repeat - Ss read the dialogues in pairs. - T calls ss to practice. - T corrects if necessary. Activity 4. Production Ss work in pair: ask and answer with structure “ Could you tell/ show me the way to.......................?” Activity 5. Consolidation T repeats content of the lesson IV. HOMEWORK - Ss study the lesson - Ss prepare for next lesson: Unit 7. A4-5.
