I. OBJECTIVES

1. Organization
- Greetings.
- Who’s absent today?
2. Check the old lesson
One student go to the board and talk about the disadvantages of video games.
3. New lesson
Activity 1. Warm up
- Chatting with ss: Do you like live in city or in the country? Why?
- Introduce the new lesson
Activity 2. New form of knowledge skills
B1. Listen. Then practice with a partner
- Ask students to look at the picture and answer the question: What is the picture about?
- Ask students some questions such as: Do you like to live in the city or in the country? Why / why not?
- Introduce the situation of the lesson.
- Ask students to look at the book and listen to the tape, then answer the question: Lan and Hoa, who likes to live in the city or in the country.
- Play the tape for students.
- Have students give the answers.
- Introduce some new words
rest of (n): phần còn lại
awake (v): tỉnh giấc
scare (adj): sợ hãi
get used to (v): làm quen
neighbor/ neighborhood (n): hàng xóm, khu vực hàng xóm
- Have students read new words in chorus and individually.
- Have students play a game: rub out and remember.

Eg. The noise keeps me aweak at night.
- Review past simple tense
Eg. The village was quiet.
Activity 3. Practice
- Have students read the dialogue in pairs.
- Call on some pairs to read the dialogue in front of the class.
- Correct the pronunciation.
- Ask students to read the dialogue again and find the answers for the questions a, b, e f.
- Call some ss to write the answer on the board while other do orally

a. She goes to the school theater club once a week. The rest of the week she usually stays home.
b. No, she doesn’t.
e. Because she don’t know all the people in her neiborhood.
f. Hoa dislikes crossing the road most because there are bikes, motorbikes, and cars coming from every direction. They really scare her.
Activity 4. Further practice
- Ask students to discuss about life in the city and life in the country.
- Have students work in pairs.
- Call on some pairs to practice in front of the class.

Activity 5. Expanding
Remind all main points for ss. to remember and practice at home.
V. HOMEWORK
Ss study the lesson.
