Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to read the passage about the pollution and know something we do to environment. *Vocabulary: environment, coal, gas, trash, power, ocean, to destroy, to watse, to pollute * Grammar - Cách dùng của too much với danh từ - Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn nói về những điều xung quanh thời điểm nói 2. Skills: reading skill 3. Attitudes: - Positive about their lesson. - Students know how to learn English. - Ss are interested in doing exercises. 4. Competence a. General capacity: self – study, communicative and collaborative, and problem solving ability. b. Specilized capacity: language capability II. PREPARATION 1. Teacher’s: lesson plan, text book, pictures 2. Students’: text book, note book III. METHODS, TECHNIQUES 1. Methods: Communicative approach, group Ss and T’s activities, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by practising. 2. Techniques: Eleciting, pair work, individual work, group work IV. PROCEDURE 1. Organization - Greetings. - Who’s absent today? 2. Check the old lesson In the lesson 3. New lesson Activity 1. Warm up - Chatting with ss - Introduce the new lesson. Activity 2. New form of knowledge skills B1. Listen and read. Then answer - T introduces new words through the reading and picture: Environment ( n): môi trường The ocean (n) đại dương The air (n) không khí Trash (n) rác rưởi Pollute (v) ô nhiễm Waste ( adj )lãng phí, bỏ hoang Power (n)năng lượng Oil (n) dầu Gas (n) khí ga *Grammar - Cách dùng của too much với danh từ Too much + danh từ không đếm được ở số nhiều Eg. We are burning too much coal. - Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn nói về những điều xung quanh thời điểm nói S + tobe + V-ing. Eg. We are destroying the forests. Activity 3. Practice - Ss listen to the tape once - Ss listen and repeat after tape - Call some ss read aloud the passage - T corrects mistake in pronunciation - Ss read the passage in silent and answer the question - Ss compare the answer with their friend - Call some ss to give answer, others comment - T corrects 1. Because people are destroying the forests. 2. Gases are polluting the air. 3. The pollution comes from gasses and trash. 4. Trash is polluting the land, rivers and oceans. Activity 4. Further practice - Ss practice reading dialogue again and translate into Vietnamese - Ss make up sentences in present progressive tense. Activity 5. Expanding - Remind all main points for ss. to remember and practice at home. V. HOMEWORK - Ss study the lesson - Ss prepare for next lesson: Revision.
