Procedure I. Warm up Ask Ss to answer the question: How do we do to save energy? - Turn off the light/fridge/TV - Use solar energy - Ss activities - Teacher gives some more words II. Pre –listening 1. Pre – teach vocabulary - solar (n): thuộc về mặt trời (translation) - solar energy (n): năng lượng mặt trời (situation) - solar panel (v): tấm pin mặt trời ((picture) - nuclear power (n): năng lượng nguyên tử (translation) - install (v): lắp đặt, cài đặt (translation) * Checking: Jumbled words - Hang on the extra board and ask Ss to guess T/F prediction 2. Our present of solar energy that reaches the Earth is enough to provide power for the total population. Many countries are already using solar energy. Solar panels are placed on the roof of a house and the sun’s energy is used to heat water. The energy can be stored for a number of days, so on cloudy days you can use solar energy too. Sweden has an advanced solar energy program.
