C III.While – listening - Tell Ss they are going to hear a conversation about different types of media. - Draw a picture of Chau and her father talking to each other. - Read the text and let Ss fill in the chart on page 43 and check. IV. Aims By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to improve reading skill and read the text to find information about the Internet. - Teaching aids: Picture (the internet), poster... - Lexical Items: forum, surf, deny, spam - Grammar: B. Procedure I. Warm up Hang the picture (the internet) on the board  Do you know what it is?  Have you ever used the internet?  What do you use it for? II. Pre-reading 1. Pre – teach vocabulary - forum (n): diễn đàn (translation) - surf (v): lướt mạng (explanation) - deny (v): từ chối (synonym): refuse - spam (n): thư rác (translation) • Checking: R – R 2. Set the scene - Have Ss look at the picture of the Internet and answer the questions:  What is it?  Can you use the Internet?  Do you think the Internet is useful?  Have you ever used the Internet? - Ss answer individually - T says: There is a forum on the Internet. You will read some opinions about the advantages and disadvantages of the Internet. 3. Reason 2 - We can watch videos, play games... - We can read novels, poems A means of education: - We can study English, look up new words in a Reason 3 dictionary - We can take a training or learning course In short, we can see a lot of advantages of the Conclusion Internet, but we have to alert when we use it. III. While- writing: - Have Ss work in groups of four, use the outline to write passage about the benefits of the Internet. - Call some Ss to write their writing on the board. - T corrects if necessary. IV. Post-writing: - T hangs the model on the board and ask Ss to compare with their writing - Ask Ss to copy the model on their book Model writing: The Internet has a lot of benefits for our life. First, it is a huge source of information. It is a very fast and convenient way to get information. It is also a very quick and cheap way to communicative with our friends and relatives. We can get the latest local or global news. In the other hand, you can check weather condition before you go on picnics or for a walk. Nowadays, we can book tickets for the next concert or a soccer match, trip, hotel, etc. Second, the Internet is also a source of entertainment. We can listen to music, the radio, watch videos, play games and read newspapers. Besides, The Internet is a rich source of education. We can study English, look up new words in a dictionary, and take a training course thanks to the Internet. In conclusion, we can know a lot of the advantages of the Internet. However, we have to alert when we use it V. Homework - Write a similar passage about the disadvantages of the Internet. - Do exercises in workbook - Prepare for Revision
