Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Use the present perfect to talk about experiences. 2. Competences: - Ability to use language: Use words and suitable tense to discribing their experiences. - Self learning competences: Do exercises. 3. Quality: Communication, self-learning capability, creative capacity, ability to use of language. 4. Skills: Reading Speaking, listening, reading. 5. Grammar points: present perfect tense B. Teaching aids: Ss’ books, text books, projector, cards. C. Procedures Warm up: - Groups work: + Put the correct name of cities under each picture. New York; Sydney; London ; Rio de Janeiro 1. 2. 3. 4 + Ask Ss where they are. I. Presentation: 1. Activity 1. - Groups work: + Ss give the past particple of some verbs. be eat see read eat get visit play eat wash + Some Ss write on the board after finishing. + Feedback. 2. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Have a brief overview of some landmarks in the world. - Use lexical items related to landmark: design, symbol, landmark, creature, UNESCO world heritage. - Information about some famous places for children ( name, countries, cities, ) 2. Competences: communication, ability to use language ( make a short conversation about favorite landmark.), self learning capacity( find information about landmarks they like), creative capacity ( making conversation ). 3. Qualities: hardworking, responsible and honest. 4. Skills: Reading and speaking . 5. Grammar points: the superlatives of long adjectives, the simple present tense. B. Teaching aids: Ss’ books, text books, projector, cards, posters, computer. C. Procedures * Warm up: Brainstorming - Divides class into 2 teams - Gets ss to write famous places in the world Famous places in the world I . Pre-reading 1. Vocabulary - Gets students to do a matching exercise with new words. Words Definition 1. Design ( v) a. A printed or written sign used to represent 2. Symbol (n) something 3. Landmark (n) b. Activity ( Who are the winners) - T divides class into 3 groups - T delivers prepared cards about names of landmarks (to Group A ) , the names of cities (to Group B ) and the names of countries ( to Group C) Planned by: Tran Huy Thong 3 Son Tien Secondary School Lesson plan of English 6 - T shows the pictures ( part 1) in turns on the screen. - When the picture is on, each member in each group takes the correct card and stand on the board. - The group has correct answer, they will get 1 point. II . While-reading 1. Activity 1: Guessing: ( Part 2 page 31). - Divide class into groups of 4. - Give each group a poster. - Have students work in groups and decice which landmark it is. - Groups stick their posters on the board. - T checks the answers on the screen. - Groups will get points if they give the correct answers. 2. Activity 2: T/F statements( Lucky numbers) - Give students 3 minutes to do the task in pairs. - Divide class into 2 groups and play the game: lucky numbers. - There are 6 sentences and 3 lucky numbers - Have a student from groups choose the number and answer. - If he/she chooses the lucky number, their group will get 2 points and no answer. - If he/she chooses the number with the sentence, he/ she will have to answer the question . III. Post- reading • Activity: Roleplay - T sets the target task. T asks students to talk about their favourite landmarks above ( in pairs) - Call some pairs to role-play in the class. A: What place do you want to visit? B: It’s . A: Which city is it in? B: It’s in .. A: Which country is it in? B: It’s in . A: Why do you want to go there? B: Because ( It has the largest bell/ It is a UNESCO heritage building/ It is the first university in Viet Nam/ It’s the most visited place in the world/ It is the symbol of Singapore.) V. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1.Knowledge: - Read the information in texts including postcards - Tell about a city that they have just visited 2. Competences: linguistic competence, cooperative learning and communicative competence. 3. Qualities: Ss will be more aware of preserving and developing the country. 4. Skills: Reading, speaking, writing 5. Grammar points: The present perfect tense B. Teaching aids: textbook, computer, projector C. Procedures I. Warm up:Chatting Have you ever been to Sweden? What is the capital of Sweden? II. Pre - reading: Look at the postcard. T asks Ss to look at the picture, ask and answer the questions - What is the picture on the post card of? - What do you think is written on this postcard? - What is the purpose of writing and sending postcard while you are on holiday? III. While - reading Activity 1: Lucky number T introduces some new words asks Ss to listen and repeat new words asks Ss to read the postcard and answer the questions. divides class into 2 teams * Play the game: Lucky number Keys : 1. T explains the task. - Have Ss work in pairs - Ask ss to imagine they have just arrived in that city and want to tell others about it. - Ask them to work individually answering the questions Activity 2: Speaking - T calls some Ss to present their writing in front of the class.
