3. Start the lesson:
Activity 1: Warm up
- T introduces the lesson.
Activity 2: Acquire new skills and knowledge
a. Modal verbs with if ‘ use board to introduce’
If S + present simple tense, S + modals + V
Ex: If you want to get good grades, you must study hard.
b. Direct and reported speech.
- Use the posters with the prepared content to introduces the lesson.
* Notes for Direct and reposted speech.
- Change some words or tenses.
- Reported verbs are: asked, wondered, inquired, wanted to know If the
reported verbs are said, said to or told, they should be changed into asked.
No “ that’’ is used. Question marks are removed.
- Reposted in questions ‘ Yes – No’.
Direct: S + asked +(object) + if/ whether + S + V.
c. Reposted in Wh – questions
Indirect: S + asked + (object) + question word + S + V.

- Let Ss do ‘ practice 1 in the text book’
- Give the feedback.
