 Activity 1. Warm up 
- Divide the class into 2 groups 
- Each person in each group will go to the board and write all long 
abjectives and short abjectives they remembered 
- Within 5 minutes which group has more words will be the winner.

Activity 2. New form of knowledge skills 
 2.1. Present progressive tense 
 S + am/is/are + V-ing 
Present progressive tense is used to talk about the change with Get and 
Become 
Form : S + am/is/are + getting/ becoming + adj 
Exercise 2 
- Get students to work in pairs. 
- Call some pairs to practice the dialogues before class 
- T corrects 
(1) are doing (4) are cleaning 
(2) am watching (5) am having 
(3) am going 
Exercise 3 
- Ask ss to do exercise 3 
- Ss compare the answer with their friend 
- Call some ss go to the board and write the answer

b. The old men are getting weaker

2.2. Comparative and superlative adjectives 
*Trong câu so sánh, tính từ được chia làm 2 loại : 
+ Tính từ ngắn là những tính từ khi phát âm chỉ có một âm tiết : big, tall... 
+ Tính từ dài là những tính từ khi phát âm có nhiều hơn một âm tiết : 
beautiful, difficult... 
*Một số tính từ khi phát âm có nhiều hơn một âm tiết nhưng trong câu so 
sánh chúng được cấu tạo như một tính từ ngắn. Những tính từ này thường kết 
thúc bằng “ le, ow, er, y “ 
Happy, clever, narrow... 
1. So sánh hơn (dùng khi CN là 2 người hoặc 2 vật) 
a. Với tính từ ngắn 
S1 + be + adj (short) + er + than + S2 
Eg: This room is smaller than that room. 
b. Với tính từ dài 
S1 + be + more + adj (long) + than + S2. 
 Eg: That room is more expensive than this room. 
2. So sánh hơn nhất 
a. Với tính từ ngắn 
 S+ be + the + adj (short) + est + N. 
 Eg: The book is the best one. 
b. Với tính từ dài 
S + be + the + most + adj (long) + N. 
 Eg: Nam is the most intelligent student in my class. 
*Note: 
- Những tính từ kết thúc bằng một phụ âm mà trước nó là một nguyên âm, 
khi cấu tạo cấp so sánh hơn, hơn nhất ta phải gấp đôi phụ âm cuối. 
Bigger, hotter... 
- Một số từ khi cấu tạo cấp so sánh không theo qui tắc
