Date of teaching : Period 46- Unit 8. OUT AND ABOUT B. A truck driver (B1) I. OBJECTIVES 1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson students will be able to understand the main ideas and details of a story about a truck driver. * Vocabulary: truck, foodstall, to load, to unload, to take......to, driver * Grammar: - Review wh-question - Review present progressive tense 2. Skills: Reading skill 3. Attitudes: - Positive about their lesson. - Students know how to learn English. - Ss are interested in doing exercises. 4. Competence a. Students’: text book, note book III. METHODS, TECHNIQUES 1. Methods: Communicative approach, group Ss and T’s activities, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by practising. 2. Techniques: Eleciting, group work, pair work, individual work IV. PROCEDURE 1. Organization - Greetings. - Who’s absent today? 2. Check the old lesson T ask some students a question: What are you doing? 3. New lesson - Chatting with ss: What do you know about job of a truck driver? - Introduce the new lesson Activity 2. New form of knowledge skills B1. Listen and read. Then ask and answer the questions. - T shows pictures, discribes them. - T asks some questions What is this? What does he do? What are they doing? - T gives out the situation and reads the text. - T teaches new words truck (n): xe tải food stall (n): quán ăn load (v): bốc lên unload (v): dỡ xuống to take......to -> mang cái gì tới đâu driver (n): người lái xe *Grammar - Review wh-question: what, where, when - Review present progressive tense Activity 3. Practice - Ss read the text in silent. - T calls some ss to read aloud - T corrects their pronuciation. - T asks ss to work in pair and answer the questions - Call some pairs practice aloud. - T gives answer key. a) He's a truck driver. b) He is going to a farm. c) A farmer is waiting for him. d) He is taking the vegetables to the market e) He is eating breakfast. f) He is eating at a food stall. Activity 4. Production - Ss work in pair: ask and answer all the questions again - Call some pairs perform in front of class - T and others give comments. Activity 5. Consolidation T repeats content of the lesson IV. HOMEWORK - Ss study the lesson - Ss prepare for next lesson. Unit 8. C1+C4.
