* Vocabulary: Awards, competition, compete, bamboo, yell, tradition- traditional,

fetch, rub, participate - participant.

2. Skills: Listening, speaking, reading and writing.

3. Attitudes: - Positive about their lesson.

- Students know how to learn English in the right way.

- Ss are interested in doing exercises.

4. Competence orientation:

a. General capacity:

- Self - control and self-study capacities.

- Communication and cooperation capacities.

- Problem solving and creativity capacities.

b. Specilized capacity:

- English language ability.

II. PREPARATION:

1. Teacher's: textbook, teacher’s book, lesson plan, cassette player.

2. Students': textbooks, notebooks, pens

METHODS, TECHNIQUES: 1. Methods: Communicative approach, group Ss and T’s activities, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, discussion group,. 2. Techniques: group work, pair work, individual work IV. PROCEDURES: 1. Organization: - Greeting and checking student’s attendance. 2. Checking the old lesson: - T does not check. 3. New lesson: Activity 1: Warm - up Flower festival 1. Getting Started a - Activity 1: Brainstorming: * Network - T divides class into groups - Then T calls on some Ss to write on BB - T checks with the whole class * Work with a partner. Where should these people go on their visits to Viet Nam? - T asks Ss to work in pairs and discuss Vietnamese festivals 1. Tom likes swimming and sunbathing -> Nha Trang Where should he go? Why? 2. David is interested in ancient cities -> Hoi An 3. Huckleberry likes mountain – climbing -> Sa Pa 4. Oliver is keen on pottery -> Bat Trang (Ha Noi) 5. Robinson is fond of crowed places -> HCM city b - Activity 2: - T presents the content of the lesson Activity 2: Acquire new skills and knowledge. 2. Listen and read a - Presentation + Who are they in the picture? + What are they doing? - T plays the louder speaker once * New words: - fetch (v) (situation) - yell (v) (situation) - competition (n) (expl) - compete (v) (situation) - rub (v) (example) - award (v) (situation) - bamboo (n) (expl) - tradition- traditional (situation) - participate – participant (situation) * Presenting target language: + Compound words Form: Noun + V-ing - T gives examples: Rice - cooking, Water - fetching, Fire - making Activity 3: Practice Task 1: Practice the dialogue with a partner - T asks Ss to work in pairs and practice the dialogue Task 2: True or false? Check the boxes. Then correct the false sentences and write them I your exercise book. - T asks Ss to read the statements and check (✓) the boxes, using the information in the dialogue - Have Ss work in groups and correct the false sentences - T checks with the whole class and gives correct answers: a. F -> Only one team member takes part in the water-fetching contest b. F -> One person has to collect one water bottle c. T d. F -> Pieces of bamboo are used to make the fire e. F -> In the final contest, the judges taste the rice f. T Activity 4: Further practice - T requests: + Name some festivals in Lai Chau province. - T corrects Ss’ errors. - T gives feedback. Activity 5: Expanding, supplementing, developing creative ideas. - T summarizes the main points: V.
