Date of teaching: Period 78- Unit 15- COUNTRIES A. We are the world (A1- 3) I. OBJECTIVES 1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to know the names some countries, ask and answer about the country where one person come from. * Vocabulary: Dạy từ về đất nước và ngôn ngữ * Grammar: - "Where are you from? " - "Where is he/she from?" - "I'm from..../She/He is from...." 2. Skills: listening, reading and speaking skills 3. Attitudes: - Positive about their lesson. - Students know how to learn English. - Ss are interested in doing exercises. 4. Competence a. General capacity: self – study, communicative and collaborative, and problem solving ability. b. Specilized capacity: language capability II. PREPARATION 1. Teacher’s: lesson plan, text book, tape, pictures 2. Students’: text book, note book III. METHODS, TECHNIQUES 1. Methods: Communicative approach, group Ss and T’s activities, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by practising. 2. Techniques: Eleciting, pair work, individual work, group work IV. PROCEDURE 1. Organization - Greetings. - Who’s absent today? 2. Check the old lesson No checking 3. New lesson Activity 1. Warm up - Chatting with ss - Introduce the new lesson. Activity 2. New form of knowledge skills A1. Listen and Repeat - Ask ss answer the question: + How many countries are there in the world ? (about 200 countries.) + Could you tell me the name of the countries you know ? - Write on the black board the countries ss know. - Ss read out the names in chorus. - Get some more ss to practice. - Play the tape for ss to practice listening the A1. - Get some ss to read it aloud. * Grammar: - "Where are you from? " - "Where is he/she from?" - "I'm from..../She/He is from...." Activity 3. Practice - Ask ss to practice asking and answering about the people in A1. Eg. Where is Susan from ? She is from Great Britain. Where is Minh from? He is from Vietnam. - Get ss to practice in pairs. - Call some pairs to practice. A2. Listen and read - Ss listen and repeat - Call some ss read aloud Activity 4. Further practice A3. Listen and repeat - Ss listen and repeat the information in the table - T explains nationality and language in the table - Ss look at the table read information about Minh, Susan and Laura - Call some ss read aloud - T corrects mistakes in pronunciation. - T introduces ss some structures - Hỏi đáp về quốc tịch: "What's her nationality?" - Hỏi đáp về ngôn ngữ: "Which language do you speak?
