reading a description of a school with practice in possessive “s” to talk about

possessions.

* Vocabulary: big, small, in the country/city, How many,there is/ are.

* Structure: - To be + tính từ; To be + giới từ + địa điểm; Sở hữu cách

2. Skills: Speaking, listening, reading, writing.

3. Attitudes:

- Positive about their lesson.

- Students know how to learn English.

- Ss are interested in doing exercises.

4. Competence

a. General capacity: self – study, communicative and collaborative, and

problem solving ability.

b. Specilized capacity: language capability

PROCEDURE 1. Organization - Greetings. - Who’s absent today? 2. Check the old lesson 3. New lesson: Warm - up: Play game : Slap the board Pre - reading: - T. presents some new words. - Checking: R. O . R - Ss look at the picture and compare the two schools. - Prediction: ( Matching) While - reading: - Ss listen through the tapescript , then check their prediction. - Ss listen through the tapescript twice, then practice reading silently. - T. asks some Ss to read the two passages aloud. Yes, it is. b. No, it isn’t. c. It is in the country. d. No, it isn’t. Post - reading: Model Sentences: - Is Phong's school small - Is Thu’s school small? - Yes, it is. - No, it isn’t. Yes/ No Question Answer Drill: Example Exchange: Phong’s school Thu’s school Is ( Phong’s school ) big? Your school big / small ? No, it isn’t. Your house in the city / country ? Your brother’s school S1: Is it in the country? S2: Yes, it is./ No, it isn’t V. CONSOLIDATION - Teacher asks ss how to use possessive: * Danh từ sở hữu ‘s + danh từ bị sở hữu + This is my teacher’s book. + That is my friend’s ruler. + These are my friend’s pens. * Notes: - We say: My friends’ pens. (We don’t say: My friends’s pens.) - We say: The leg of the table (We can’t say: The table’s leg) * Teacher asks ss to point to the real things in class and say sentences in which they have to use possessive. Knowledge : - By the end of lesson, Ss will be able to listen to a dialogue about school to understand the details; practicing cardinal numbers, ordinal numbers and “Which” questions to talk about school. *Vocabulary: - Số thứ tự 1-10, từ vựng to have, grade, floor - Ôn tập về tính từ sở hữu (my, your, his, her) *Structure: - Các câu hỏi đặc biệt về khối, lớp, tầng: Which, Where... - Câu hỏi với: How many..../ Does....have? 2. Phong: It’s on the (h). floor * Grid B2: Name Grade Class floor Thu 7 7C 2nd Phong 6 6A 1st You While - listening: - Ask students to listen to the dialogue (3 times ) and check their predictions. - Copy the answerkey and then complete the grid (above). - T plays the tape for Ss to listen and practice reading in pairs. - Call some pairs to read aloud the dialogue. Post - listening: Board drill, ask Ss to use the grid to practice the questions: + Which grade is Thu in? Class - She is in grade 7 Class 7C + Where is her classroom ? - It’s on the 1st floor. V. CONSOLIDATION - Ask sts read the remember and learn by heart. VI. HOMEWORK - Learn by heart new words - Prepare the next lesson: Unit 4: C1 – C2. Knowledge : - By the end of the lesson, the sts will be able to speak and write some action of Ba in the morning and talk about habitual actions. * Vocabulary: get up, get dressed, wash face, brush teeth, have breakfast, go to school, late for. * Structure: The simple present tense. 2. Skills: Speaking, listening, reading, writing. 3. Attitudes: - Positive about their lesson. - Students know how to learn English. - Ss are interested in doing exercises. 4. Competence a. General capacity: self – study, communicative and collaborative, and problem solving ability. b. Specilized capacity: language capability II. PREPARATION 1. Practice: Ask sts listen and repeat then call on some sts read it aloud before the class.
